Dr. Arifa Tahir

Prof. Dr. Arifa Tahir is a Tenured Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Environmental Science at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU). She holds a Ph.D. in Botany (Environmental Microbiology) from the University of the Punjab and brings over two decades of academic, administrative, and research experience in environmental protection, applied microbiology, and sustainable development. In addition to her academic leadership at LCWU, Dr. Tahir serves in key policy and regulatory roles, including Convener of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Committee and Laboratory Certification Committee for the Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). She has also led initiatives funded by international bodies, such as the US Department of State project focusing on training future women scientists
